The Position:
We are looking for a QA Engineer that can automate the testing of our desktop GUIs. This means automating the testing of our Eclipse and Visual Studio plugins, as well as all future desktop GUIs. This role also includes manual testing of our desktop GUIs where necessary, but always keeping an eye out for opportunities to automate this testing.
The emphasis is on test automation.
You will have direct access to the GUI developers and will work closely with them to achieve the ultimate goal, which is to make sure our GUIs are very high quality.

Responsibilities:
Writing automated GUI tests using a combination of Perl, Squish, etc.
Manual GUI testing where necessary
Bugfix verification (automating where possible, manual where necessary)
Monitoring test system and triaging/fixing failures to keep it at 100% pass
Qualifications and Requirements:
BSc or MS in Computer Science or related field with GPA of 75% or higher
2+ years of experience programming/scripting
1+ years of experience with Perl
1+ years of experience with UI test automation (eg. Squish)
Strong QA background
Experience with software development tools (eg. git, make, etc.)
2+ years of experience with Unix/Linux command line
2+ years of experience with Windows
Bonus Experience:
Experience with JavaScript
Experience with Ruby
Experience with the Squish testing framework
Experience with Visual Studio IDE
Experience with Eclipse IDE
Experience with virtual machines (ideally VMware)
Experience with Mac platform
Personal Qualities:
Strong English communicator (written and verbal)

Work Environment:
Public transit is very close to office (LRT is one block away)
You will work in a newly renovated, open concept office in Calgary
You will work on dual 24" monitors, ergo keyboard, etc.
