We are looking for a Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager at the Saskatoon Inn. In this role you are responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and upgrades for the exterior and interior facilities, including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, structural, ground care and overall smooth operation within the hotel. You will take a proactive, preventative approach to maintaining the hotel. Duties and Responsibilities: *Maintains facilities and equipment by conducting inspections on a regular basis to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, and type of operation and maintenance personnel needed.*Prepares the operating budget for engineering, recommends items to be included in the capital budget and insures adherence with approved budget.*Maintains logs and journals for all utilities; reviews meter readings and regulates controls.*Designs and supervises recycling programs*Controls staffing, scheduling, recruitment and training for all maintenance associates*Monitors actual versus budgeted expenses and takes corrective action where required.*Maintains the competitive status and profitability of the hotel by monitoring industry trends and recommending the appropriate action be taken.*Performs any technical emergency engineering repairs as required; informs immediate supervisor if other actions need to be taken.*Commitment to developing team by conducting quarterly performance discussions, setting goals and reviewing educational requirements of all teammates.*Involvement with Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Safety Committee. Preferred Education and Requirements: *Must possess a min of 5yrs hotel maintenance background with at least 3yrs at a management level. *Applicant must possess a fourth Class Fire Engineering Certificate.*Must possess or be willing to obtain a Pool Operators Certificate (within one year of start date/funded by employer).*WHMIS safety training and 1st Aid/CPR (requirement of employer/employer funded).*Ticket in HVAC, electrical and plumbing an asset.*Current understanding of Provincial Health and Safety Regulations. *Background working with maintenance management systems (i.e. work order based computer programs, building management systems).*Valid Class five License.*Knowledge of computers (Microsoft office suite/Microsoft excel) an asset.*Must have exceptional management expertise and is very detail oriented.*Good written verbal skills*Expertise to develop and implement annual budget and capital plans.*Proven Expertise to be an effective leader for associates and management within a team environment.*Previous background in recruitment selection, orientation and training of maintenance associates.
